DiSC® Profiling

DiSC® is a behavioural model. We are talking about tendencies, preferences, priorities, and styles and is context dependent as behaviour differs in different situations.

Just a brief background on DiSC – it was first proposed in1928 by William Moulton Marston

He made a deliberate decision to focus only on psychological phenomena that were directly observable and measurable through objective means. From his research, Marston theorized that the behavioural expression of emotions could be categorized into four primary types, stemming from the person’s perceptions of self in relationship to their environment. These four types were labelled by Marston as Dominance (D), Inducement (I), Submission (S), and Compliance (C).  These are currently referred to as Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness

How DiSC® Profiling Works

DiSC® is a personal assessment tool used worldwide by more than one million people every year to help improve teamwork, communication, and productivity in the workplace.

People with D personalities tend to be confident and place an emphasis on accomplishing bottom-line results.

People with i personalities tend to be more open and place an emphasis on relationships and influencing or persuading others.

People with S personalities tend to be dependable and place the emphasis on cooperation and sincerity.

People with C personalities tend to place the emphasis on quality, accuracy, expertise, and competency.
